My hometown

I have just learned that we are going to have skype conversations with a class in Louisiana. That will be exiting- to see how they are, if they are any different, or experience that they are just the same as us.

So, here's a little something about my hometown:
I live in a lovely place called Haslum. Halsum is placed the municipality Bærum, in one of Norway's 19 counties, Akershus. Whith its 6000 inhabitants, Haslum is a nice and quiet place and suits the life of a family with kids. The area is safe and I am glad this is my home town. We have everything we need nearby. Bærum has facilities like large forest areas, beaches ski slopes and Scandinavia's largest mall, which results in an area suitable for everyone. The temperatures in Bærum differs from each season. This means we experience both warm summers and nice, cold, snowy winters.

This is a picture of a ski slope 5 minutes away from my home. Even though it is quite small, I like it.

This is Kadettangen, a small beach just next to the mall and ten minutes away from the school. The temptation to leave school early when the weather allows it, is sometimes pretty big. :)

Hi Henrikke,

What is the size of your town? It is very interesting to see how many different towns you are all from in Norway. It wounds like most of you are pretty close to the capital.

Our capital is Baton Rouge and it is about 4 hours away from our hometown of Minden. We have about 15000 people here in our town.

You will receive a comment from my students soon!

Hello! In the municipality, Bærum, there are approximately 110 000 inhabitants. In Haslum, an area located in Bærum, there are about 5300 people. :)
Yes, most of the students who attend Sandvika High School live in the area around, or maybe 20 minutes away. Therefore we are all close to the capital. But that's nice- Oslo is a small, but nice town.
Greetings from Norway

Your town is somewhat like Minden, Louisiana except its not very big but we have every thing we pretty much need on one main road called the Hommer Road.

We have forest's,swamps, lakes and ect. Our temperatures varies day by day. Somedays its hot and other days its cold. Its Winter here, and the temperatures sometimes are between 30 to 50 degress and 54 to 75 degrees.

Your town seems like a wonderful place to stay. I would love to come to your mall. What type of food do you eat and what kind of music do you listen to. Maybe one day I can explore you town.
